Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma joined the Lakers in 2017, a year after Kobe Bryant’s retirement. While he didn’t get the opportunity to play alongside Bryant in LA, he interacted with the 5-time champion during his stay with the Lakers. In January 2020, Kobe Bryant passed away in the aftermath of a terrible helicopter accident.
Los Angeles Lakers traded Kuzma in August 2021 to Washington Wizards as a part of the deal for Russell Westbrook. Kuzma had signed a new 3-year contract with the Lakers a few months prior. However, Kuzma spent four seasons with the Los Angeles side and knows what it takes to be a Laker.
Kuzma also knows the impact of Kobe on the franchise and has been a big fan. He used to take Kobe’s advice during his time with the Lakers and still remembers some of the most important ones.
