Many regard Kevin Garnett as the best power forward of all time. While he won the only championship of his career with Boston Celtics, he is also known for his stints with Minnesota Timberwolves. KG was once the face of the Minnesota-based franchise and didn’t like the Jimmy Butler trade saga with the Timberwolves back in 2018.
Kevin Garnett played 21 seasons in the NBA and spent the majority of his career with the Timberwolves. He returned to Minnesota in 2015 and played one season for them before retiring as a Timberwolves legend.

On the occasion of the NBA’s 75th anniversary, The Athletic is releasing a list of the 75 best players in the league’s history. They have ranked Garnett 17th for his contributions to the NBA. The Athletic also reported that Garnett-led teams used to be quiet in the dressing room. Garnett wanted the team to use that time to focus and concentrate.

In an old interview, Garnett fired at Jimmy Butler, who played for the Timberwolves from 2017 to 2018. Butler demanded a trade from the Timberwolves and even missed some training sessions and preseason games. KG wasn’t happy with the Butler-trade drama and expressed his thoughts on that.

Former Timberwolves star Garnett gave an interview to Jon Krawczynski back in 2018, when the Butler trade saga was at its peak. Jon asked KG about not requesting a trade back in his day. To this, Garnett explained his rationale and also talked about the Butler trade saga.

“I built this house,” Kevin Garnett said when Jon Krawczynski asked why he never requested a trade back in the day. “I’m not leaving this goddamn house. You can get the f**k up out of here. You don’t like it, then leave.”

He added, “I would hear a bunch of whining and it’s snowing, and it’s cold and why are we practicing. Man, you know what this was when you signed up. If you don’t want to be here, get the fuck up out of here, man. Guys know this. Guys know what you sign up for. I never asked for a trade because I never wanted to be traded.”
Jimmy Butler requested to be traded ahead of the 2018-19 season. However, he couldn’t be traded during the off-season and had to play for the Wolves in the 2018-19 season. Butler featured in 10 games for the Wolves averaging 21.3 points per game.

But Butler was traded in November 2018 to the Philadelphia 76ers. He spent a season with the Sixers, before signing with Miami Heat via a sign and trade deal.
