Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant and rap sensation Jay-Z share a special relationship. Ever since Durant’s days in Oklahoma, Jay-Z has been an influential figure in his life. Over time, it is natural that these two have developed a bond that allows them to be honest with each other. Moreover, Kevin Durant is infamous for being brutal on social media.
His recent tweet was no exception to that rule.
This comes a few months after the release of Idris Elba’s The Harder They Fall movie, in which Jay-Z made his latest song with Kid Cudi. Durant’s tweet seems to be a reaction to the soundtrack that features several unconventional beats.

Was Kevin Durant taking a dig at Jay-Z’s latest music?
Kevin Durant admitted in 2017 that Jay-Z gave Durant ‘practical advice’ while convincing him to join the Warriors. If Durant takes career advice from Jay-Z, it is not far-fetched to assume they would exchange honest opinions about their work. While there remains no confirmation that this statement was a dig on his work, it won’t be a surprise if it turns out to be.
Jay-Z released a feature song for Idris Elba’s The Harder They Fall in which he arguably moved away from his usual style of rap. Maybe this tweet was a comment on that.
Throughout his career, Jay-Z has shown he is an ardent NBA fan. He along with his wife, Beyonce have been spotted on multiple occasions in the stands of an NBA game.
Moreover, since Jay-Z is from New York, he makes it a point to regularly attend Brooklyn Nets‘ games.
Beyonce and Jay-Z almost bought ownership stakes in an NBA franchise
Considering that these two entertainment sensations have turned into business tycoons and investors, it is not a surprise that they were looking to invest in their mutual interests. According to sources, Beyonce and her husband were close to buying an ownership stake in the Houston Rockets.
It seems that Beyonce wished to contribute to her community by owning their prime NBA franchise. She is a native of Houston. James Harden was still a part of the Rockets at that time this deal was supposed to happen.
