Giannis Antetokounmpo has been one of the best players in the league for the past few seasons. While the defending champions haven’t been as dominant as last season, Giannis has continued to make his case for the MVP award. However, recently Charles Oakley claimed that he would have been a bench player during his era. But Isiah Thomas has given a befitting reply to Oakley’s comments.
Milwaukee Bucks currently sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 37-25 record. However, they’re still championship favorites with tw0-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo at their helm. However, Giannis’ two MVP awards weren’t enough to impress Charles Oakley, who said Giannis would be a bench player in his era.
Former teammate of Michael Jordan at Bulls, Charles Oakley, recently claimed that the ‘Greek Freak‘ wouldn’t have made it to the starting spot during the 80s and 90s. However, former Pistons star, Isiah Thomas, came up with a befitting response to Oakley’s statements.

Isiah Thomas’ response to Charles Oakley’s Giannis Antetokounmpo comments
Former NBA star Isiah Thomas recently appeared on NBA TV Live and gave his thoughts on Giannis dominating during the 80s and the 90s. Isiah remembered Oakley’s comments on Giannis a few days back and called him out for the same.
“All these guys (Charles Oakley) talking about when Giannis couldn’t play and all that,” Isiah said. “Dude, Giannis going around Oakley, Giannis going around all them, he dunking on them. He bigger, he faster, he stronger. You can talk all that stuff because you don’t play no more, because you got gray hair, sitting on the sidelines smoking a cigar talking about what you used to do. That dude would dog you every single time y’all stepped on the court.”

“We ain’t never see no dude like this. Give him his props, give him his credit. He would dog anybody in the 80s, 90s, 00s, & in 3020 when we get there.”
Isiah’s response to Oakley would have been welcomed by Bucks fans. However, a few days back, Isiah claimed that Michael Jordan would not have survived in the present game.

Despite the Bucks’ inconsistency, they are championship favorites this season. The defending champions have a strong roster that can upset any NBA team in the playoffs.
