The Boston Celtics blew out the Los Angeles Lakers two days ago. Several fans around the league started questioning the Lakers’ decision to trade for Westbrook instead of Buddy Hield. He visibly struggled against Dennis Schroder’s defense.
Even experts around the league started deliberating on a trade for Westbrook. SkySports’ NBA Analyst Mo Mooncey tweeted a video of LeBron James from two years ago that shook the internet.
He tweeted asking fans if they think a trade that LeBron James suggested in an All-Star game draft could become a reality. Subsequently, Lakers fans had some hilarious opinions about the proposed trade. This is how they responded on Twitter.

I don’t think he would fit as a PF in Lakers, at least not on offense, on defense well it depends the team

Would still only be the third-worst contract Westbrook has been traded for (factoring in how CP3 was viewed in 2019)😆

What does this mean for Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons?
While there is no official word on a potential trade, it’s clear that it is something that is on the minds of the fans. Westbrook has struggled in his first few games with the Lakers. Since Ben’s trade saga has been the talk of the league since the playoffs last season, it’s not a surprise that this is the first alternative that the Lakers will look at.
However, looking at the fact that it has only been the first few games since the former MVP has joined the Lakers, the franchise will most likely be more patient with him.

The pseudo-managerial history of LeBron James
Ever since his decision to join the Miami Heat in 2010, LeBron has been the pioneer of player empowerment in the league. Not just because he changes every team he joins, but also because he gets what he wants. Players like Carmelo Anthony have agreed that LeBron James played a crucial role in convincing them to join his team.
Will this All-Star trade become a reality? Considering that the Lakers’ defense is all over the place this season, Ben would actually not be a bad idea. Will Westbrook be on his way to another team? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
