Former NBA Star holds LeBron James responsible for Russell Westbrook
In his conversation with SiriusXM Radio, Anthony Morrow said, “I didn’t necessarily like the move in the beginning of it. But my whole mentality with it was, Bron has to somehow figure out how to make Russ a Dwyane Wade from the Miami days.”
He further added, “That’s the only way it’s gonna work because I know what kind of player Russ is, I know his pedigree…He can’t not be who he is on the court… LeBron is going to be LeBron on any team in the world. With some of those guys, and, you know, they have to accept roles or change their game, and Russ is not one of those dudes..”

Westbrook joined as a member of what the media portrayed as the Lakers’ Big Three. Wherein he was alongside Davis and LeBron. Moreover, Davis even admitted that he and LeBron had a big role in influencing the front office to trade for him. However, LeBron James is used to covering up for the team’s deficiencies almost single-handedly. With his increasing age, it was a common perception that he will no longer have the athleticism needed to do that on both ends of the court.
Therefore, Westbrook will have to do athleticism-related things for the team. However, LeBron is still putting up MVP numbers and doing most of the carrying for the Lakers in Davis’ absentia. Therefore, is Morrow asking a bit too much of LeBron to bring out the best in Westbrook as well? To be fair, there’s only so much an individual can do. Do you think LeBron should be held accountable for Westbrook’s performance? Let us know what you think about it.
