‘Dont Think Words Can Describe It’: Bubba Wallace Explains the Excitement of Working for Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is the proud owner of the 23XI Racing team in NASCAR. Bubba Wallace competes as a driver for this team. Two days ago, he became the first black driver to win a NASCAR Cup race since 1963.

And naturally, Michael Jordan was extremely happy to hear this news. Wallace told the talk show hosts of TODAY that Michael tried to contact him immediately after the race. Upon his return home, Wallace spoke to the NBA Legend where Jordan told him he was super proud of him.

During an interview with TODAY, Wallace spoke about the overwhelming emotions he feels while working for Michael Jordan. This is what he said.

Wallace on what Michael Jordan and his mentality represent

The hosts of the 3rd Hour in the TODAY talk show asked Wallace about his conversation with Jordan after winning the race. He said, “I did. I had a voicemail from him um after the race and as soon as I landed I called him and I got to share a quick conversation with him. So he was super proud, him and the family there at home.”

Further, he explained what he feels about working for Jordan. He said, “It’s pretty cool to have MJ call you up to be his driver. For one to be in the sport uh for him to come be a part of our sport is huge. But for me to be the driver of the 23XI team and represent his brand and what he’s about, his winning mentality. Um, it’s just um yeah i don’t think words can describe it. I’d be here all day trying to figure it out.”

When Michael Jordan was looking for a driver for his team, it is natural to assume that he would have looked for someone who has the same winning mentality as him. Having found Bubba to fulfill that requirement and have such a historic victory is bound to make Jordan proud of his choice.
