The Cleveland Cavaliers have struck the league by storm this season. A team that merely had 22 wins last season already has 20 wins while we are barely at the halfway point. However, their woes might just be at their beginning as they lost their prime point guard for the season to an ACL injury.

Cavaliers’ Star shares a motivational message from Kobe Bryant after suffering an ACL injury
Near the end of his career, Kobe Bryant also faced a career-threatening Achilles injury. However, Kobe hustled and came back to the NBA even after having already spent 15+ years in the NBA.
If it was the right thing to do, even Kobe could’ve retired after that Achilles injury. However, he worked hard and he made it back to the NBA. Because that is how much he loved basketball. Similarly, Rubio is probably trying to send the same message that he will make it back to the NBA.

What does this mean for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Ever since LeBron James left the Cavaliers in 2018, they were rebuilding their entire roster. Since then, they struggled every season even with the strong core talent of Collin Sexton, Isaac Okoro, and Darius Garland. However, with multiple additions to this roster this season like Lauri Markannen and Ricky Rubio, we expected them to at least worry the championship contenders. With the incredible performance of Rubio so far this season, they are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, this unfortunate news comes as a shock, especially to Cleveland fans. They finally must have felt that the aftershock of losing LeBron James has subsided.
