NBA star James Harden is now a part of yet another blockbuster trade. This time, to the Philadelphia 76ers. As the trade deadline closed, the Nets traded Harden to the Sixers for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft picks.
To anyone following this season closely, it’s clear that the Nets came out with a haul. Not only did they get Simmons, but they also have a steal in Curry and Drummond. Of course, 76ers will also benefit from a scorer like Harden.
However, as per Charles Barkley, while on NBA on TNT, the Nets are surely one of the strongest teams out there.

Charles Barkley in support of Brooklyn Nets’ roster
The clip starts with Shaquille O’Neal discussing Simmons and his game. As per the four-time NBA Champion, this trade is only going to help Simmons, as he was not currently doing much in Philadelphia. With the 76ers, there was a lot of pressure on him to go out there and actually shoot the ball (and score).
O’Neal believes that with the Nets, the pressure will be off of him. He does not need to get out there and shoot as he can do what he was already good at — facilitating. As per O’Neal, he can throw it to Kyrie Irving, throw it to Kevin Durant, and deflect.
Barkley on the Ben Simmons and the Nets ‘great’ trade
Charles Barkley agreed, adding that it was indeed a ‘great trade’ by Brooklyn. Furthermore, adding Drummond and Curry in the mix is only going to help the Nets’ roster more.
However, Barkley focused on the team as a whole, convinced that they will be the best out there if healthy. Barkley said. He did give the Milwaukee Bucks as an exception, all thanks to the confidence they have to go out there and win a title. “Let me tell you something. I don’t care who you are, there’s nobody else, if they get healthy, that they’re gonna fear”.
The 58-year-old even mentioned the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, speaking of a healthy Kyrie Irving. “It doesn’t matter what they finish. If they get healthy, they’re scary for everybody”.

Of course, despite the good trade, the Nets, as well as the 76ers, will have to settle down on roles soon. After all, a change this close to the playoffs is tricky.

Additionally, reports add that Simmons’ debut with the Nets might take some time.
