Gymnast Sunisa Lee made her name during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as she won three medals for the United States. She won a gold in the all-around event, silver in the team event, and bronze in the uneven bars. However, apart from gymnastics, she also has an interest in basketball. Sunisa recently shared a picture of her and NBA legend Charles Barkley, calling him the GOAT.

However, Sunisa’s social media post with Charles Barkley didn’t go down well with the fans. But from her activities, it’s clear that she likes the game of basketball. Moreover, her picture with Barkley was from the Auburn vs. Oklahoma men?s basketball game, back in January.

Now, Sunisa recently attended ‘The Steam Room’ podcast alongside Barkley and Ernie Johnson. While she answered several questions on different topics on the podcast, her responses to Barkley’s chances at gymnastics were hilarious.

Sunisa Lee hilariously jokes at Charles Barkley

Olympic medalist Sunisa Lee was invited to the latest episode of TNT’s ‘The Steam Room‘ podcast. During the podcast, Ernie asked Sunisa about the best event if ‘Chuck‘ would have been on her team. Ernie also asked if Barkley could just walk around the beam without falling. To this, Sunisa replied as she laughed, “Yeah, he can.”

Barkley laughed and thanked the 18-year-old gymnast for her comments. Ernie then asked Sunisa if Barkley can do the vault, to which she said that he can do the vault as well. Barkley interrupted and said that he’s not going to do that because ‘it’s not safe’.

Barkley continued, “It’s fun for you coz you good at it.”

Indeed, it was a funny moment from the clip, and everyone had a good laugh about it. Moreover, Sunisa and Barkley have a lot in common.

Both Sunisa and Barkley have attended the same college, Auburn University. Apart from that, both have their hometown in Alabama. However, the 18-year-old currently represents the Auburn Tigers gymnastics team in Division 1 of the NCAA.

She will play for the Tigers till 2025. Barkley, on the other hand, played for the Tigers’ basketball team back in 1981 and won several accolades.
