Michael Jordan dominated the 80s and the 90s in the NBA as a 6-time champion and a 14-time All-Star. He also retired as a 10-time scoring champion. Charles Barkley, despite his feud with Jordan, had a lot to say about the Bulls legend and included him among the three most important players in NBA history. However, Chucky left out Lakers star LeBron James from the three most important NBA players.

The GOAT debate is a never-ending one. However, names that are constant during these debates among the NBA circles: Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, among others. However, James is still playing and is at the top of his form despite the Lakers‘ woeful season.

King James is one of the best players in the league this season and even made it to the MVP conversations. Despite being 37, James has stepped up for the Lakers. He will surely retire as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, in NBA history. However, Charles recently left him out of the top 3 most important players in NBA history.

Charles Barkley leaves out LeBron James from 3 most important NBA players; includes Michael Jordan

Former NBA star Charles Barkley recently appeared on ‘The Sessions with Renée Paquette‘ podcast. During the podcast, he revealed the three most important players in NBA history. He also admitted that Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved the NBA, while Michael Jordan took it to another level.

“In my day, it was Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Patrick Ewing,” Barkley said.

“And when people talk about the greatest ever. Michael, Magic, Larry. You know, those are probably the three most important people in NBA history, in my opinion. Because Magic and Larry saved NBA and then Michael took it to a whole another level.”

But it’s good to see Barkley giving his honest opinion on the most important players. Despite their competitive feud, Barkley has always praised Jordan for his accomplishments.
