Los Angeles Lakers lost their 18th game of the season when Brooklyn Nets beat them 122-115 at home. LeBron James ended the game with a game-high 39 points, but his heroics couldn’t prevent another defeat. The Lakers are now enduring a run of bad form and with injury issues to important players, there’s a lot of pressure on the team to bounce back.

The Lakers were handed their fifth consecutive defeat at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets. James Harden and Patty Mills starred for the Nets as they scored 36 and 34 points, respectively. The Nets played without Kevin Durant, but they looked comfortable throughout the game except for a few instances when the Lakers put up a fight.
Patty Mills signed for the Nets earlier in the summer and has been amazing for them so far. Harden even admitted that it could be the best basketball of Mills’ career. Mills recently answered an interesting question regarding his free agency which might upset Lakers fans.

In a recent interview, Patty Mills was asked if his free agency came down to Lakers and Nets. However, to everyone’s surprise, Mills said, “not really”.
Mills also added that joining the Nets this summer was the best decision of his career and he has loved his time in the city so far.

James Harden was full of praise for the 33-year-old Australian after the Lakers game. He felt it was the best basketball of Mills’ career. However, Mills felt otherwise. He responded: “Yeah, it could be. Production-wise, playing for my country is probably where I tend to play the best.”

The Nets currently lead the Eastern Conference table with a 22-9 record. The Lakers, however, are 7th in the Western Conference table. They have a 16-18 record so far in the league. LeBron James has been in top form for a while now, but he has received little or no help from his teammates in the last few games. In fact, LeBron had more points than all the other starters combined vs the Nets.
