Los Angeles Lakers registered their 13th loss of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies as they blew a first-quarter lead and lost 108-95 on the road. Anthony Davis led the scoring charts for the Lakers with 22 points. However, it wasn’t enough as the Lakers were forced to fall back to .500 this season.

LeBron James completed the 100th triple-double of his career against the Grizzlies, but it was the only silver lining from the game. Russell Westbrook had a poor game as well as he scored just 9 points in 33 mins. The Lakers completed 22 turnovers, with James and Westbrook combining for 11 of them.

Anthony Davis was furious, for obvious reasons, after the game and demanded more consistency from the team. However, his comments didn’t go down well with the Lakers fans on Twitter. Lakers fans reacted to Davis’ post-game comments by asking him to ‘look into the mirror’.

Lakers Twitter reacts to Anthony Davis post-match comments

Anthony Davis appeared for the post-game press conference alongside Russell Westbrook and demanded more consistency from the team.

“Tonight was game 26, and we just can’t – I think we’re in sixth (in the standings) right now, a game-and-a-half, two games out of fourth — we can’t keep taking a step forward and two steps backwards. We have to fix it quickly,” he added.

Davis’ comments make sense as the Lakers have bounced back after losses but haven’t managed to be consistent. However, Lakers fans were clearly unhappy with his comments as they want him to hold himself ‘accountable’. These are some of the best Twitter reactions to Davis’ comments.

It’s clear that the Lakers fans are frustrated with the team’s performance this season given they have one of the best rosters in the NBA. In fact, the Lakers are lucky that they are in the play-in position despite a 13-13 record in 26 games. Many teams have been underperforming in the Western Conference this season and the Lakers are lucky to be 7th in the table.

The same was highlighted by Davis as well.

However, the Lakers have no time to reflect upon the defeat as they face Oklahoma City Thunder on the road tomorrow. The Thunder have been struggling this season as they have won just 8 in 24 games this season. A win away from home could be a big morale booster for the Lakers as they will face Orlando Magic in LA after the match with OKC.
