Every Lakers fan enjoyed their overtime victory over Dallas Mavericks last week. It was a perfect game for the Lakers as their star trio of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis clicked (67 points combined), which has been rare this season. Austin Reaves played the role of a perfect sixth man and won the game for the Lakers in OT. However, everything has gone downhill for the Lakers ever since.

The Lakers lineup vs Dallas Mavericks worked and with 3 consecutive wins, it appeared that they have finally got their mojo back. However, Anthony Davis got injured in their next game against Minnesota Timberwolves as they lost. James was the highest scorer with 18 points, which can be said as low by his standards.

Shams Charania provides an update on Anthony Davis comeback

Reliable journalist Shams Charania revealed last week that Davis has an MCL sprain and might be out for four weeks. However, now he has another update on the injury. He recently opened up on Davis’s injury and how the Lakers are going ahead with his recovery.

“Anthony Davis will be re-evaluated within that four weeks’ time period, but as of right now, they do not have a sense of whether it will be overturned within those four weeks if it has to be a little bit more. Then the Lakers will obviously be cautious with a guy like Anthony Davis.”

Charania added, ” This is just brutal luck because as much as people want to get on with Anthony Davis. He’s still putting up 20 and 10 this season and he’s still the guy that’s still under that age (30) and is still in his prime. So for Anthony Davis to miss this amount of time is unfortunate, but the hope is that within that four-week period, they’ll know that he can return,”

Los Angeles Lakers are just plain unlucky when it comes to an injury crisis. They failed to defend their championship last season due to injuries to the star duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James. They made a massive roster overhaul this summer and built a huge roster with immense depth. However, despite that, they have been struggling with injuries.
