Lewis Hamilton is one of the voices against the rule and has showcased his rejection since the Melbourne race. The FIA is now more strict than ever to see that the rules are being followed in Miami. But the 37-year-old isn’t backing down either. On Thursday, Hamilton attended the official Miami GP press conference wearing multiple watches, rings, and necklaces.

Lewis Hamilton is ready to not race in Miami GP

Hamilton strongly showcased his rejection of the new rule. However, the authorities are also strict about the rule this time and might even not register the driver for the Sunday race if he doesn’t follow the rules. The Mercedes man is prepared to face such conditions, and he will not back down from his protest, even if it means he can’t race.

“If they stop me, so be it,” said the Mercedes driver. “We’ve got a spare driver. We’re all ready and prepped for the weekend… there is lots to do in the city anyway.”

Aside from the protest, Hamilton has got to think about the race, as this might be his chance to climb back up the championship ladder. The English man is having a rough season and is far away from the 2022 championship leader Charles Leclerc. Lewis currently ranks seventh on the 2022 drivers’ standings with 28 points.
