At the beginning of this season, experts widely saw the Lakers as the primary contenders from the Western Conference. With the number of veterans and exceptionally talented free agents they signed, they seemed set for success. However, after the first 16 games, their record is at (8-8) as they have struggled due to the absence of LeBron James.

Nevertheless, in his absence, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook were expected to pick the slack. Somehow, they have also clearly struggled with chemistry issues. Thus, creating a sense of worry among Laker fans. Simultaneously, Scottie Pippen, an NBA legend mainly with the Chicago Bulls, roasted the Lakers even more.

Among the saga created by the release of Pippen’s book, he made some comparisons of the current Lakers to his Chicago Bulls that show the problem in the Lakers’ championship ambitions.

Pippen’s brutal take on LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers

While talking to Sirius XM NBA Radio, Pippen was asked what he felt about the situation of the Lakers. And since the Lakers have clearly struggled with chemistry issues, he did not hesitate to say, “This team here reminds me of the Lakers that they throw together with the Karl Malones, the Gary Payton, there’s no chemistry there. You talk about our old team in Chicago, we had chemistry.”

“I don’t think you can make that comparison when you’re talking to the Lakers, who have went out and signed a lot of free agents. Guys that were MVPs, who still sort of feel like they’re a megastar in the game and they’re going to be a megastar for the Lakers. We didn’t have none of that sort of chemistry problems that they have to deal with. We knew our roles.”
