Jimmy Fallon is popularly known for his talk show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’ Interestingly, baseball players have been frequent guests in the show’s history, with Jimmy too being a constant attendee in the stands. However, this time he was not just a viewer at the Major League Baseball game.
Jimmy learns how to throw from Mariano Rivera
The Yankees vs Rangers game took place at the Yankee Stadium mound on Tuesday. Going by a longstanding ritual of baseball, the guest of honor always throws the ceremonial first pitch. Luckily for Jimmy, it was his time to shine.
However, when the famed talk show host spotted the legendary baseball player, Mariano Rivera, he offered him to throw the pitch. Regardless, Rivera politely declined the offer but coached Jimmy, giving him the expertise he needed.
Mo advised Jimmy to throw his pitch from the full 60 feet, 6 inches on the pitching rubber, instead of in front of the mound, which was Fallon’s earlier intention.
Notably, Rivera seemed happy with his prodigy’s throw. Before leaving the ground, both the stars also signed the ball. Next, Mariano will soon appear on Jimmy’s talk show on Thursday.
