The Yankees have a plan—well, if crossing their fingers and hoping Aaron Judge can do it all counts as one. With chaos swirling around the roster, the Bronx Bombers find themselves in a familiar predicament: banking on their biggest star to be the ultimate savior. Whether it’s brilliance or blind faith, one thing’s certain—Judge better be ready to carry more than just a bat. And no, the way his postseason performance saw him being a mess at the plate can’t be it.
The injuries have hit the New York Yankees like a freight train without brakes. It might have possibly derailed the whole redemption season for the Yankees while all the management can do is watch. But all hope is not lost till Aaron Judge is there and now the Yankees will have to put all their eggs in the Judge basket.
During a podcast with Buster Olney, Hembo said, “I think Aaron Judge is going to have to deliver another 8 WAR season. He is more than capable of doing it.” With all this responsibility, will Judge be able to pull off a miracle is the question that all the fans are asking.

The 32-year-old has produced an 8+ WAR season twice in the past during the 2022 and 2017 seasons. But he did have some support at that time. Now, with Giancarlo Stanton out, the All Rise will have to do the heavy lifting.
We all know that Giancarlo Stanton was having pain in his elbow last season, but he played through it. However, the bad news hit just before the spring. Stanton has major injuries to the tendons in his elbow and the Yankees management has given no correct time for his return.
If that was the offense, even their defense took a hit. Their star pitcher Gerrit Cole was also taken out by an injury. The problem occurred during the spring training when the pain in his elbow just started to get worse. He says it became difficult to even get sleep. The Yankees currently have no idea as the report for the MRI scan is yet to be out.
That’s not all, though. Even Luis Gil is out for nearly three months as informed by Brian Cashman due to a high-grade lat strain. The AL Rookie of the Year is expected to be back “sometime in the summer.” Talk about the bad luck that the Yankees are wrapped in!

Hembo also talked about other players like Jazz Chisholm Jr and Jasson Dominguez and how they will also have to step up. Even though Jazz Chisholm Jr. has done a good job, he will have to take it to the next level if the Yankees want to make the postseason. Jasson Dominguez will have to step up and take the regular left-field job where he has not looked that great till now.
If the Yankees are going to salvage this season, they need more than just Judge playing superhero—they need a supporting cast that actually shows up. But with injuries piling up and question marks all over the roster, the Bronx Bombers might as well start printing “In Judge We Trust” banners. That’s because at this point their postseason dreams rest on one man—and his ability to defy baseball gravity yet again.
