Lionel Messi drops a major hint
In a recent interview, Messi dropped a bombshell hint about his future plans. He said, “I think that when I finish my career we will return to live in Barcelona”. Lionel Messi then went on to further say, “Barcelona is my home.”

This statement seems to suggest that Messi is planning to enjoy his retirement in Barcelona. If that is the case, it would be huge for the city of Barcelona, as they would be able to keep one of their all-time greats. However, it is also possible that Messi is simply leaving the door open for a return to FC Barcelona at some point in the future.
It is clear that Messi still has a strong connection to Barcelona. Even if he does not retire there, it seems likely that he will end up back in the city at some point.

If Beckham is able to pull off Messi’s signing, it would be the biggest signing in MLS history. It would be a huge coup for the league, as one of the best players of all time would be joining MLS.
