Bangladesh defied all odds to reach the semi-final of the Champions Trophy and will now take on favourites India here at Edgbaston on Thursday. Though this would be Bangladesh’s first semi-final match in any ICC event, captain Mashrafe Mortaza on Monday said his team wants to play their Champions Trophy semi-final against India without any pressure and that no one should tag them as champions just yet. The Indian team’s captain and coach aren’t taking the side lightly. They will try their best to come up with a plan to surprise India.

Bangladesh’s bowling hasn’t been very good and India has one of the strongest batting line-ups. That said, Bangladesh should get it clear that pitches in England are flat and India will definitely try to score 325+ runs. To overcome this situation they might start with an extra batsman because bowlers aren’t gonna help them if they want to win the match. They can play with three bowlers Mortaza, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur and two all rounders Mosaddek Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan.

Sabbir Rehman hasn’t been very effective in this tournament. He scored 8,8,24 in his last three matches. The semi-final is going to be a high scoring match and for that Bangladesh should not go with an out of form player. Imrul Kayes hasn’t been very effective too but they need to take this risk.
