Bangladesh’s new bowling sensation, who has taken the whole world by surprise, Mustafizur Rahman, is now keen to bag a lucrative IPL contract in the next edition.
The 19 year old just took apart the Indian batting line up in the first two ODI’s and is the main reason for Bangladesh’s historic series win against India. The hosts have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, thanks to Mustafizur’s 11 wickets, and now look to make it 3-0 today.
It is learnt that Bangladesh’s captain Mashrafe Mortaza has requested his Indian counterpart Mahendra Singh Dhoni to look for a franchise who would like to pick him up for the next season in the auctions. Replying in the affirmative, Captain Cool said that he “will try” to get the young lad an IPL team.

He has now becoming the subject of conversation all over the world which is evident as Rahman was a significant point of discussion at yesterday’s press conference on the eve of today’s third ODI between India and Bangladesh.
Ravichandran Ashwin was asked about ways to counter Mustafizur to which he gave an amusing and a cheeky reply, saying: “There isn’t a counter as such. I mean what can we do? Can we kidnap him (Mustafizur)? See it’s not media news. It’s international cricket. Everybody is a professional to analyse what needs to be done.” Ashwin further warned that the left-arm seamer would be a watched closely hereon.
“He is a good bowler, you cannot deny what he has done or take the respect away from him. I am also happy for him, but I think the challenge starts here for him. As an international cricketer, I know it much better than anybody else. Now, people are going to watch out for him,” he said.
This would be a good opportunity for the young sensation if he gets it as he would get to bowl against players like AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell and other explosive batsman which would help him develop as a bowler and give him exposure as the level of the league is very high due to the fact that best players around the world play in the IPL. It would be interesting to see whether he gets an IPL contract and then the impact he is able to create by his performance in the league.
