Australia thrashed Pakistan by an innings and five runs in the first Test at The Gabba in Brisbane. The hosts had dominated the visitors since the beginning. However, a hilarious conversation between David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne became viral which was caught by the stump-mic.

Australia players are known of sledging on the field in order to break opposition players’ concentration. This helps sometimes also. Even, in a few occasions, it turns out to be a friendly banter as well like it was between Tim Paine and Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant last year.

On Day 1, Tim Paine gave a hilarious comment over Mohammad Rizwan that his scent smells really nice and that also got recorded by the stump-mic. However, this time David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne were talking about toothpaste. The incident took place when Shan Masood, was facing Australia spinner Nathan Lyon on the fourth day.

Labuschagne was fielding at short leg at that time and started talking about Colgate. This made David Warner also commented on that, who was fielding at the slip. After the delivery, he hilariously asked his teammate if he said about Colgate. “What did you just say Marnus? Colgate? Did you say, Colgate?”  David Warner said as quoted by Fox Cricket.

One of the players in the field also confirmed it. However, Warner further took a hilarious jibe on Masood, who was on the strike then. “What are you implying? What, he’s got bad breath does he?” Australia opener asked. Even former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist also commented on that. “I’ve never heard so many references to personal hygiene in my life,” Gilchrist expressed while commentating.

As far as the game is concerned, David Warner scored 154 after his poor show in the Ashes earlier this year and Marnus Labuschagne smashed his career-best 185. With this, he emerged as the top run-getters for Australia in the first Test. Their centuries helped Australia put up a mammoth total and also registered a convincing win over Pakistan.
