Carlos Alcaraz promised Spain that he would give them a show, as he went for gold against Novak Djokovic. His call has been heard by every tennis enthusiast and champion. In the backdrop of the anticipated showdown, Alcaraz’s nation has announced a massive monetary prize for the Gold medal winner. Furthermore it attracted the American tennis legend, Serena Williams, herself as she graced the clay court of Paris after years just to watch the showdown between the youngest and the oldest player.

Williams has won 4 Olympic gold medals throughout her career. While she may have bid adieu to professional tennis, the appeal of the Olympics is certainly different, as after her retirement, she is back on the court. But this time she is enjoying a great match, seated in the first row as the two players are engaged in a fierce battle from the get-go. The tennis fan, Bastien Fachan, shared Williams’s presence on his X account with the following caption:

Though every Olympic final in tennis is special. However, this time it is a bit more than that for a few reasons. The very first is the fact that both the players have made immense sacrifices in recent times just to give their all today. On one hand, Djokovic hurried to the surgical room to sort his knee issues out and make a comeback in just 20 days or so and play the Wimbledon final. This is particularly peculiar, as the Serbian Ace has opted to sit and recover many times, rather than hurrying back on the court. As this might be his only chance at the gold in Olympics.

On the other hand, when it comes to the 21-year-old Spaniard, who has made history in almost every major, he played, is now looking to follow the same route at the Games too. But for this, he has decided to opt out of Canadian Masters, a tough decision when rankings points are taken into account. Moreover, the Olympics do not provide any ranking points to compensate for the loss. But the glitter of gold seems to be enough to compensate for both the players.

In the final, both the players are fighting for every point, barely giving each other any space to take a step forward. And Williams is certainly enjoying the nail-biting final. But whom is she cheering? Her batch mate, Djokovic, or the young tennis star Alcaraz? Only she knows that. Moreover, Williams has been quite active at the Paris Olympics since the opening ceremony itself.

She ventured into numerous sports, including gymnastics, Beach Volleyball, to support America. She was not alone in the stands, as her daughter Olympia was also seen cheering along with Williams.

Williams and daughter cheer for America at the Paris Olympics

Is it surprising that Williams is at the tennis court at the Olympics? Maybe not. The American legend is a 4x medalist herself. But it might be difficult to digest the fact that she is not standing on the court but in the stands cheering. However, Williams has certainly evolved, as she is enjoying her time in the stands and loving every bit of it. First, she was seen dressed in a red dress for the opening ceremony, braving motion sickness on the river Seine as she sailed along with Rafael Nadal to pass on the Olympics torch.

Next time, we saw her in the stands at the gymnastics arena, watching the equally legendary Simone Biles making a terrific comeback. As she won the Gold with her team. Moreover, this wasn’t the only time that she was seen at the gymnastics. When Biles stepped into the area for an individual event, Williams was there again with her daughter to see her win another gold. And after getting used to Biles winning gold, she proceeded to volleyball.
