24-year-old Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa rose to the top of WTA rankings last year by winning the Indian Wells title. Currently ranked no.7 on the women’s singles circuit, Badosa recently talked about the bad effects of social media and how it could affect young players like Emma Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz, and others.
After winning the US open, Raducanu, 19, has achieved a lot of fame and popularity in her short career. Similarly, Alcaraz has also received a lot of publicity at a very young age.

Paula Badosa provides social media advice to Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz
Badosa feels the pressure and scrutiny from social media could be a worrisome factor for upcoming talents on both the ATP and WTA tours. “When I think of young players like Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz, I want them to try and not pay too much attention to what they may see on there because it could hurt them a lot.”

“No matter how well they perform on the tennis court, I worry that they are not yet prepared to carry all of the weight and pressures that inevitably come with social media. I have suffered from it myself and wouldn’t want others to experience it, but ultimately it’s part of tennis and it is the price to pay for success,” Badosa further stated.
All three players are ready for the Indian Wells
Despite a great 2021, Badosa is still trying to find her groove this year. The Spanish star lost in the fourth round at the Australian Open. Then, her performance in both Dubai and Qatar Open hasn’t been great. Now she is looking to get her form back at the Indian Wells as a defending champion. She will face Tereza Martincova in her first-round match.
