Earlier, the 2-time Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray took to Twitter to express his opinion in a series of tweets. He tweeted, ?I follow golf very closely and have no idea how many ranking points the winner of the @TheMasters gets. Me and my friends love football and non of us know or care how many ranking points a team gets for winning the @FIFAWorldCup.? ?

?But I could tell you exactly who won the World Cup and the Masters. I?d hazard a guess that most people watching on centre court @Wimbledon in a few weeks time wouldn?t know or care about how many ranking points a player gets for winning a 3rd round match,? the British player further wrote.?

Finally, Murray said, ?But I guarantee they will remember who wins. @Wimbledon will never be an exhibition and will never feel like an exhibition. The end.?

Notably, the former Wimbledon champion missed the Roland Garros to focus on Wimbledon and the entire grass-court season. However, he did play the Madrid Open earlier after receiving a wild card.?

Wimbledon could take legal action against ATP and WTA

Wimbledon has always been a prestigious and unique Grand Slam. Earlier, they decided to ban all Russian and Belarusian players from the tournament.?

As a result, ATP and WTA recently made the decision to remove ranking points from the Grand Slam event. This caused a massive backlash among players, as most of them criticized ATP and WTA for the decision while some welcomed it.?

Later, Wimbledon released a statement expressing their disappointment. Now, they could reportedly take some legal action against ATP, WTA, and the other governing bodies.
