Djokovic and Jabeur's friendship—Does this make them the most likable pair in tennis today?

Tunisian WTA star Ons Jabeur is a champion at making friends. While her besties Paula Badosa and Aryna Sabalenka would confirm that in a second, Jabeur went the extra mile to extend her friend zone to none other than Novak Djokovic. Not only did she research Djokovic’s favorite on-court snack, but the Minister of Happiness also amused him with her gesture, earning a very sweet reaction and comment from him.

Ons Jabeur surprised the former world number one ATP star Novak Djokovic by offering him a box of dates. Not only did Djokovic try them and express his delight with a long “mmmmmmmmm,” but he also hugged the Tunisian WTA star and left an adorable message. “Minister of happiness Ons Jabeur gave me delicious present today. My favorite on court snack- dates. Thank you Ons,” wrote the Serb.

Now, Djokovic fans know that dates are his favorite on-court snack. Back in 2020, a date-selling company from the UK, Deliciously Dates, shared an interesting fact about Djokovic on their Facebook platform. When asked how he manages his nutrition alongside his training, the former world number one said, “I do really pay a lot of attention to nutrition, Dates are something that I’ve been consuming on the court for a while now. They are a fruit that give you a low glycemic index, which is very important.

By offering Djokovic his favorite snack, Jabeur showed that she keeps track of the former world number one ATP star’s preferences. This gesture was not surprising, considering Jabeur’s admiration for Djokovic, which she has expressed since the French Open with exclusive posts about his matches.

Ons Jabeur asked everyone to “never underestimate” Novak Djokovic

Ons Jabeur has long been a fan of the 24-time Grand Slam winner. During this year’s French Open, Djokovic defeated Argentinian Juan Pablo Varillas in an epic five-set match that lasted three hours and forty minutes. Post-victory, Jabeur took to her social media account to compliment Djokovic. “Never underestimate the heart of a champion,” she wrote, adding a red heart emoji to show her admiration for Djokovic.

Jabeur also joined ASICS during the Roland Garros tour, a brand Djokovic swears by for his footwear needs on the court. She wore the Solution Speed FF3 sneakers in the French Open. Djokovic partnered with the company to help design their Court FF Novak footwear series. “I’m just glad that together we have created a shoe that, I believe, is going to be one of the best on the market, if not the best one,” said Djokovic, who prefers his COurt FF3 sneakers. Now, Jabeur followed in Djokovic’s footsteps by collaborating with this brand.

Jabeur’s thoughtful gesture for Djokovic once again showcased her caring attitude towards her colleagues. Not only has she won hearts with her friendships with Sabalenka and Badosa, but she also proved she has a golden heart, caring for and loving everyone in the tennis fraternity despite any rivalries.
