Undoubtedly, Wimbledon is one of the most unique Grand Slam tournaments for so many reasons. The Grass surface, the clothing, the rich tradition, and many other things made it pretty unique. Safe to say, they don’t like to change their tradition this much. In contrast, this year, they are making many changes, and Rafael Nadal and Matteo Berrettini are some of the lucky players to experience them.

Rafael Nadal and Matteo Berrettini practice at the Wimbledon Centre Court
Today, both Nadal and Berrettini created history at the Wimbledon, as they became the first tennis players to take part in a pre-tournament practice event at the Centre Court. In the past, players had complained about slipping at the Centre during the first week of the Slam. That’s the main reason Wimbledon took this decision to let a few of the top players practice on the Centre Court before the tournament. Also, they don’t want any top players to suffer big injuries during the first week.
The only people previously allowed to play on Centre Court during the build-up to Wimbledon were four female club members on the Saturday as part of an equipment test. But several players slipped on the lush surface last year and the wise decision has been taken to allow practice

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis event, which started in the year 1877. Since the beginning, it has created some rules and players are following them. Firstly, all the players have to wear whites and can’t include any other visible colors in their dresses. Also, the playing surface is pretty unique to most of the tournaments, as players play on grass surfaces.
Previously, Sunday used to be an off day for everyone, but this year they have changed this tradition, as the play will continue on Sunday as well. Apart from these, strawberries and cream is one of the signature foods here and it has been a constant since the beginning of this tournament.
