The Australian Open has announced a new partnership with the Ralph Lauren Corporation. The company will serve as the official ‘Outfitter’ of the Grand Slam. From 2021, it will outfit all the on-court officials, ball kids, and chair umpires in its own unique manner.
The Tournament Director of the Australian Open, Craig Tiley, expressed his gratitude to Ralph. He was proud about collaborating with one of the world’s most trusted brands.
“We are delighted to welcome Ralph Lauren to the Australian Open family and proud to partner with this prestigious global brand who have a role in some of the world’s biggest sporting events,” said Tiley.

Started by Ralph Lauren in 1967, the company is one of the biggest fashion enterprises in today’s market. Although the company began with the manufacturing of men’s ties, it deals in almost everything in clothing today. It has also featured on over 100 magazine covers, including Forbes and the Times.
After already working in partnership with the US Open and Wimbledon, the Australian Open will be the third Grand Slam that Ralph will be working with.
“Will bring a fresh new look to the Australian Open”- Craig Tiley
Tiley was really happy with the deal and spoke at length about the revolution which Ralph could bring. He believed that their uniforms would fit with the Grand Slam brand.
“The Ralph Lauren style and sophistication will bring a fresh new look to the Australian Open. The uniform designs reflect the contemporary, playful, and premium AO brand. Our shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and creativity, along with a deep connection to history and tradition, form the base of this exciting new long-term partnership,” added the tournament director.
The partnership will begin from the Australian Open 2021. Interestingly, the company will be making all the fabric from yarn derived from recycled plastic bottles. This is because of its policy of following the norms of sustainable development. Thus, the tournament is also propagating an environment-friendly message.
