Australian tennis player Alex de Minaur advanced to the finals of Queen’s Club Championship on Saturday. He defeated Hulger Rune in the semis and is keeping his Wimbledon hopes alive. He will face Carlos Alcaraz in the final. However, more than his significant victory, it was his girlfriend Katie Boulter’s comment on his Instagram that caught the attention of fans.

Minaur started his Queen’s campaign by defeating two times Wimbledon winner Andy Murray. He won the semifinal in just two sets in less than two hours. But he received probably the finest gift after the match as his tennis star girlfriend shared words full of wit and humor.

After losing to Argentine Martin Etcheverry in the French Open, de Minaur seems to be ambitious for Wimbledon. After he won the semis at the Queen’s in straight sets (6-3 7-6 (2)), he posted his smiling photo on the Instagram with the caption, “Finals baby”.

His girlfriend, however, took the humorous route to congratulate her beau. She commented on his photograph, displaying wit and humor, “Who you smiling at? I wasn’t there today.”

Earlier his girlfriend posted on her Instagram as he raced into the finals “Ennnn Fuegooo(on fire in Spanish)@alexdeminaur Finals bound.” But this is not the first time that the couple has engaged in funny online interaction.

When Katie Boulter won the Nottingham Open, she posted a picture of her lifting the trophy. Her boyfriend commented, “You really are my idol. Not too sure what’s more impressive, the title or the biceps.” Both of them are likely to have even more quality time if the Australian takes down the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

The Australian, the Spaniard and the battle at the Queen’s

The Roland Garros 2023 semifinalist Carlos Alcaraz will lock horns with Alex De Minaur in the finals. Earlier, Alcaraz described Minaur as ‘dangerous’. After his semifinal victory, Alcaraz said in a post match interview, “It’s going to be an enormous challenge for me. His game is really good on the grass. He serves so flat. He’s going to be very dangerous here on grass.”

But what will be the strategy of the former World No.1? Alcaraz commended the abilities of Minaur on grass but said that he will focus on his own game and enjoy the final. But the stakes are high for both players, as the battle at Queen’s will not be limited to winning the trophy alone. Alcaraz will reclaim his World No. 1 spot in case of victory. And if the Australian star wins, he will climb to his highest career rankings, at number 14. Both of them know how important this final is before Wimbledon. And of course, Boulter too will be ready to ignite the internet with blazing humor.
