Notably, Williams often gives befitting replies to journalists, who ask her terrible questions or make disrespectful comments. Back in 2010, Williams faced a similar sort of situation, when a journalist asked her about anger management. In reply, the American tennis star gave one of her best replies.
Serena Williams shuts down a journalist with a smooth reply
At the press conference of the Australian Open in 2010, a journalist asked Serena Williams about her anger management. In reply, Serena said, “I don’t think it was… was it anger management thing? How’s your writing coming along?”
The journalist replied, “Just fine, thank you.”

Notably, the journalist was referring to Williams’ infamous outburst at the US Open in 2009. During her semi-final loss against Kim Clijsters, she lost her cool at a line judge who called a foot fault when Williams was serving. Safe to say, it affected the American tennis player, as she lost the match. Later the Grand Slam committee fined Williams around $10,000.
Andy Roddick once made fun of Serena’s US Open outburst
Beroe the Australian Open began in 2010, former US Open champion Andy Roddick and Serena Williams played in a charity match in Melbourne. While playing doubles, a line judge called a foot fault while Roddick was serving.
Then, Roddick said to the line judge, “Did you really call a foot fault on me in a charity match?”

Meanwhile, Serena Williams was sitting near the court and was laughing at Roddick’s comical act. Suddenly, Roddick said, “You realize Serena’s over there, right?”
After that, the whole stadium started laughing along with Williams. Notably, the American has had many outbursts over the years, particularly at the US Open. In 2018, she had a similar outburst against the chair umpire during the final of the US Open against Naomi Osaka.
