The last Grand Slam of the season is at the doorstep. The highly anticipated event will host the 23 times Grand Slam champion Serena Williams’ last matches. Further, it will also bring back the 2022 Australian and French Open champion Rafael Nadal.

But before the high-profile tournament begins, here’s a little something that can be called a teaser. What would be a better way to commence the fourth majors of the year than a practice match comprising pairs of most adored players?
Rafael Nadal-Iga Swiatek versus John McEnroe-Coco Gauff
The US Open after struggling with heavy backlash because of its decision to bar Novak Djokovic seems to have caught pace and favor. As the tournament recently hosted charity matches to help Ukraine and received a phenomenal response. One of the matches, which arguably is the crowd’s favorite, was held between a magical mix. Coco Gauff and John McEnroe teamed up to lock horns with Iga Swiatek and Rafael Nadal in the Louis Armstrong Stadium. Here’s a clip from the fun filled match.

The highlight of the match was the excellent tweeners team Nadal– Swiatek executed. Both the 2022 French Open champions in the first set at 3-1 pumped the spectators with back-to-back tweeners. Thereafter, by bagging a point, they ended a really good rally.
The US Open will hold its opening rounds on 29th August and name the winner on Sunday 11th September. Further, as the tournament will act host to Russian and Belarusian players as well, Medvedev will have a chance to secure a consecutive win.

The 21 times Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic went through a rollercoaster before he eventually settled for the fact that there’s no US Open for him this year. The Serb who is standing firm on his decision at first tangled in a legal battle with the Australian Open and incurred a ban of three years.
Following that, he got caught in the uncertainty of the American Grand Slam. The US Open initially barred its three-time champion, then, due to the massive outrage, reconsidered its stance on the matter.
