Novak Djokovic has once again pulled off something sensational at the recently concluded hard court major event. After securing the US Open crown at the age of 36, the Serbian tennis star has achieved a record-equalling Grand Slam feat in the tennis realm. The ATP legend now holds the most major titles (24), on both the men’s and women’s tours as he has now joined the WTA veteran, Margaret Court in this elite club.
With his recent accomplishment in New York, the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion has shown that he is in a league of his own. Considering the same, Serena Williams‘ former coach recently revealed how the Serb is a cut above the rest while he also brought to light the two different sides of the ‘Djoker’.

The 36-year-old, who lost to Daniil Medvedev in the 2021 US Open title match, exacted revenge on the Russian this season. In three comfortable sets, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3, Djokovic thumped the current world No. 3 and secured the hard court major title.
Providing an analysis of their encounter, the legendary coach, Patrick Mouratoglou recently took to Instagram to talk about the ‘main reasons’ behind the Serb’s remarkable triumph.
He said, “In this US Open final between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev, two things were key in that game. The first thing was his mindset. In the finals of Grand Slams, there are two different Novaks.”

In the process, the French tennis coach also opened up about how there are two sides of the newly crowned US Open champion. Mouratoglou added, “There is the Novak that comes to conquer and when he’s like that, and he plays his best tennis, he’s the best player in the world”.
The 53-year-old has already revealed the ‘conqueror mode’ of the ATP player, but now the question arises; Is there another side of Djokovic?

In his assessment of the current world No. 1 player’s recent campaign, the Frenchman also asserted there is another ‘Djokovic’ that can be defeated on the court. Mouratoglou said, “And there is another Djokovic which comes to the final to avoid losing and this one is beatable is extremely difficult to beat but he’s beatable. In that Grand Slam final, he came to conquer and he did.”

Apart from this, the legendary coach also brought to light the tactical element that helped the Serb overcome his Russian opponent. The 53-year-old claimed that Djokovic was aware that the rally would favor Medvedev more the longer it lasted.
According to Mouratoglou, the ‘Djoker’ consequently found a way of shortening the rallies during the championship match of the US Open.
