Coco Gauff just crushed it in the Australian Open! She beat Belinda Bencic in a crazy match. Coco dropped the first set, which was her first loss at the tournament, but then she totally turned things around and dominated Bencic 6-2, 6-1. Now, she’s facing Paula Badosa in the semis, and it’s going to be epic! But here’s the thing: Coco was talking about having fun on the court at her press conference. She even shared her thoughts on Novak Djokovic‘s views on enjoying the sport. Her suggestions are pretty cool!
Novak Djokovic, after his third-round victory against Tomas Machac at the Australian Open, sat for a press conference, where he discussed his own improving performance at the tournament. However, he also praised Danielle Collins’ recent on-court antics. Collins, after defeating Australian player Destanee Aiava, celebrated with a playful gesture, putting her hands to her ears and blowing kisses to the crowd. She also sarcastically thanked the fans who had criticized her, stating that they were paying her bills. Djokovic expressed his admiration for Collins’ behavior, and when asked if tennis could be less serious, he seemed to agree with the sentiment.
““I don’t know. Yes and no. We have the history and tradition that we are proud of and makes our sport different from other sports. But at the same time, you know, I think we have been a little bit behind the other sports with changes and trying to keep the pace with the evolution of society and the new generation that we all know doesn’t have that much of a great attention span, and they want the movement,” the ATP star mentioned.

He proposed introducing entertainment, such as dancers performing during breaks. “I want to see a little bit more entertainment. For example, why wouldn’t we consider doing something between the sets like the Super Bowl or, I don’t know, the NBA, right? When there is a timeout, they have, you know, dancers come in and this and that. I wouldn’t have problem with that. Nice dancers, you know, there for a few minutes of break so I can relax my nerves and think about something else,” Djokovic added.
Simultaneously, during her press conference after defeating Belinda Bencic in the fourth round of the Australian Open, Gauff was asked about Djokovic’s suggestion of having halftime shows like the Super Bowl or NBA games. “I mean, it’s only a minute of the changeover, so I don’t really—I mean, it’s a great suggestion if we had like a real halftime like those sports do,” Gauff began.
“But I think the issue is that we only have a minute, which I honestly think that our changeover should be a little bit longer here because by the time you walk to your seat, it’s only 45 seconds, so—but that’s another thing. But yeah, I mean, I guess it depends how long you want the show to go on,” Gauff added.

Coco humorously suggested an alternative. “Hire some street dancers, you know, they do a little quick 90-second routine or something like that. I don’t know. But yeah, that’s definitely an interesting thought. I was not expecting that from Novak. I didn’t see it,” she added.
Djokovic’s suggestion and Gauff’s response have started conversations about modernizing tennis. Fans and experts are now discussing whether these changes could make tennis more exciting for younger audiences. One such incident of interaction with fans was seen recently in the Australian Open.

Aryna Sabalenka shines with victory and dance at the Australian Open
Aryna Sabalenka started her 2025 Australian Open campaign in style, securing a dominant win against Sloane Stephens on a rain-soaked opening day. Playing at the Rod Laver Arena, the defending champion extended her Australian Open winning streak to 15 matches with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over the former US Open winner.
During the post-match presentation, Sabalenka’s entertaining side took the stage when Jelena Dokic brought up her love for dancing. “But I have a question, I’ve noticed something. You always dance, but there is no one in the crowd. So I have an idea…” Dokic teased, setting the stage for a memorable moment.

As the entertaining atmosphere grew, Sabalenka joined Dokic in dancing for the crowd. The arena erupted with applause as Australian actress Rebel Wilson and Georgios Frangulis joined in, turning the celebration into a shared spectacle. Sabalenka laughed off the moment, saying, “Now they have approved that I’m the worst dancer.”
Thanks to social media, Dokic was already aware of Sabalenka’s dance skills, and the fans loved every second of the on-court fun. It was a perfect mix of talent and personality, proving Sabalenka is not just a champion on the court but also a crowd favorite off-court.
