Rafael Nadal has been the talk of the town ever since he hinted about his comeback next year. Tennis fans have been longing to watch the Spanish legend in action as it has been months since he stepped onto the court at a tournament. Nadal’s last appearance was at the Australian Open, where he made a shock second-round exit. However, he has finally announced his comeback tournament, which has left some tennis legends emotional.

The Spaniard is a much-liked and respected player in the tennis fraternity. As a result, his comeback announcement not only made his fans happy and emotional but also legends of the game and his fellow players.

Earlier today, a video about Nadal announcing his comeback went viral on social media. He said that he wants to finish his career on a high and is looking forward to his comeback after missing months due to injuries. Further, he revealed that he has set his return date in Brisbane before the Australian Open.

As the video went out on social media, it went viral as soon as it was shared. Fans throughout the world reacted to the much-awaited comeback of Nadal. Even legends of the game reacted to it. WTA legend, Martina Navratilova gave a thumbs up and claps to Nadal’s comeback update.

Subsequently, Boris Becker took to his official Instagram handle and shared Nadal’s comeback update on his Instagram story. Additionally, he wrote, “Welcome back Rafa.”  Lastly, American tennis legend, Billie Jean King, also welcomed Nadal, saying, “Welcome back @rafaelnadal,” via her official Instagram handle.

Despite the tennis fraternity getting excited about Nadal’s return, a veteran tennis coach has delivered a harsh update about the Spaniard’s future.

In a recent interview, Serena Williams’ childhood coach wasn’t too impressed about the prospects of Nadal making a successful return. He went against the popular opinion and delivered a harsh verdict.

Talking about this, he said, “I wish Rafa all the best, but he’s not at the exact same level he was before so I don’t think he’s a contender to win a Slam. I think he can be competitive and I think he’s a rough out for anybody on clay, but it depends on his health.”
