After winning her match against the Russian, Swiatek talked about 13-time French Open champion, Rafael Nadal. It is no secret that she has been a massive fan of the Spaniard, as she has spoken about him a lot in the past. Even recently, she talked about Rafael’s humility during the on-court interview.
Rafael Nadal is a huge inspiration for Iga Swiatek
During her on-court interview with the former French tennis player, Marion Bartoli asked Swiatek about Rafael Nadal’s influence in her game. The Pol said, “Oh my god, like he is inspiring me in basically every aspect, both on-court and off-court. He’s so humble and down to earth and he’s that kind of guy who is always saying hi and it’s amazing because it seems like the success didn’t change him. He’s still the same, you know great person.“

She also talked about Nadal’s incredible comeback at the Australian Open earlier this year. “On court, you know I saw a few matches live. It wasn’t always possible because I was also in tournaments. When I watched this year Australian Open final, Oh my god, it was just overwhelming really.
“Even I had doubts and I could see how he’s, you know, trying to find solutions and trying to get better during the match and he did and he won. So, he’s a huge inspiration, and not only here, but basically on every court. It’s just great to watch him play,” Swiatek further added.
While Swiatek reached the final of the Roland Garros for the second time in her career, Rafael Nadal reached the semi-final at the French Open for the 15th time in his career.
