After a hectic season, now it’s perhaps time for the players to reset, readjust, re-focus, and restart. The world number one women’s tennis star, Aryna Sabalenka had a stellar season this year. She won four titles this season and two out of them have been Grand Slam triumphs (AO and the US Open). Now, since the season is over, it’s time for her to cherish those moments and refresh her mind a bit before getting back to business in 2025. What are her off-season plans, though? Well, recently Andy Roddick helped the fans get a sneak peek into that during the podcast, ‘Served with Andy Roddick.‘ What did she say in the podcast?
Just a few days ago, we saw several WTA stars engaging in a fun activity on WTA’s official IG account. During that fun session, there was a question that read, “During the offseason, I will…“ In reply to that, we saw Coco Gauff say that she’d go to the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, Iga Swiatek revealed she has no plans as of now, while Jasmine Paolini said she wants to take rest and prepare for a better season in 2025. Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula, and Qinwen Zheng also shared their plans during that fun event, but what did Aryna Sabalenka say?
Well, Sabalenka revealed that she had planned on drinking but she hilariously refused to reveal what the drink would be. However, recently when Andy Roddick asked a similar question in the recent episode (November 12), Sabalenka said, “For the next couple of weeks I’ll be in Miami. I’m so tired of traveling around. I just want to sleep on my bed, do nothing, no schedule, and wake up whenever I want. So, it’s gonna be like pretty chill days in Miami.“

She further added, “Hopefully some time on the beach, of course, cocktails and I wish I could say a lot of deserts and a lot of sugar but I’m so afraid of losing my shape. So probably it’s gonna be some sort of diet (laughs). So, two weeks of doing nothing, and then we start all over again. And he preseason I’m going to be in Dubai, that’s the plan.” Aryna Sabalenka is currently in Paris enjoying her time with her boyfriend, Georgious Frangulis.

However, despite traveling all around the world Miami has a special place in her heart. She is often seen spending her time at the ‘Magic City‘ while she’s not on the Tour. Previously during an interview, she reflected on her love for Miami, saying, “Miami is so chill, so relaxed. Everyone is enjoying life. They’re not in a rush. They call it a place for retirement, and it’s so chill. But at the same time, the nightlife in Miami is so cool.”
After playing almost 70 matches this season, perhaps Aryna Sabalenka needs this break very much at the moment. She has already promised to bring her best tennis to Australia yet again next year. Can she become the first woman to win three straight AO singles titles since Martina Hingis in 1999? Time will tell! Sabalenka will open her 2025 campaign at the Brisbane Internation before turning her attention towards defending her title at the AO.

Earlier this year, we saw Roddick shower praise on Sabalenka for her performance in Melbourne. Andy Roddick has always been a big admirer of the Belarusian tennis star. What else did they say in their conversation on the recent episode of ‘Served with Andy Roddick’?
Aryna Sabalenka strikes a deal with Andy Roddick for not picking her as the favorite in a major tournament
In February this year, Andy Roddick claimed that there was currently no other player more bankable in women’s tennis than Aryna Sabalenka. He was quite impressed with her performance at the AO. He drew a comparison with her fierce rival, Iga Swiatek, and said, “The confidence comes in bunches, but she’s (Swiatek) susceptible, as she’s proven early in these events. Sabalenka is the most bankable player on Earth right now.“

Then even before the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, we saw Roddick confidently predicting Aryna Sabalenka’s win over Jessica Pegula in the final during his draw analysis. However, later on, we saw Sabalenka pulling out from the tournament due to a shoulder injury. Recently, during the podcast, Roddick brought up that hilarious yet-so-embarrassing moment in front of Sabalenka and said that he was a bit “angry” with her pulling out of Wimbledon just hours after he declared her the favorite to win the title.
After hearing this, Aryna Sabalenka hilariously apologized to him by saying, “I’m so sorry. But you know, thank you so much for picking me. Probably for the next Grand Slams can you don’t pick us so we make it to the final? That’s a deal.” How many Grand Slam titles do you think Aryna Sabalenka can win in the next season?
