Novak Djokovic is finally ready to step on the courts again. The Serb kept himself out for nearly a month after he suffered from an injury in his knee. While his rapid recovery seems to have sorted the misery for his fans, his participation shocked many. Like several other entities, Serena Williams’ former coach posted an update to celebrate Djokovic’s entry in Wimbledon. Although it seemed to be a lighthearted call, the Serb’s fan didn’t like the mention.
Former pro and renowned tennis coach Rennae Stubbs recently responded to a fan who criticized her comments about Novak Djokovic. The feud began after Stubbs shared news about Djokovic’s entry in Wimbledon. “Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon draw,” she wrote, as an attempt to simply express her excitement on the update. A Nole fan didn’t seem to like her approach and, therefore, snapped back at her.
“The GOAT @DjokerNole doesn’t need your approval to play or to be included in the 2024 @wimbledon’s draw. Your opinion is completely irrelevant,” he wrote. Stubbs humorously replied, “I never said he needed my permission😂😂 I think it’s unbelievable what he’s doing! U fans are hilarious. 😂” While everyone was still confused about the reason behind this feud, the fan continued the conversation.

They wrote, “We know how you considered and commented different moments and situations in Novak’s career,” in reply to Stubbs as they finished the conversation.
Djokovic’s remarkable recovery after injuring his right knee at the French Open is a cause for celebration for his fans. The meniscus tear forced him to withdraw from the tournament and undergo surgery on June 5. Despite the setback, the Serb has returned in time for Wimbledon. The fact that he’s optimistic about his chances to win the title makes his entry even more interesting.

Back when the Serb gave a positive call on his comeback, Rennae Stubbs found it hard to believe. Comparing it with her own experience of a similar injury, she said, “I cannot believe (that Djokovic is in the Wimbledon draw). I’ve had two meniscus surgeries and I can tell you, six weeks was the minimum before I came back, and I still think that was too early for me.” This isn’t the first time Stubbs has ignited the ire of Djokovic fans.

Trying to find fans bashing Serena Williams’ former coach? Seeking her comments against Novak Djokovic would be the best place to search. Back in 2023, when the Serb was determined to add more and more titles to his portfolio, Rennae Stubbs disregarded it by drawing a line of comparison between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The Serb stands at the top amongst the big threes in terms of titles and wins. While some may look at it as competitiveness, a fan of Djoker said, “Rennae Stubbs, former coach of US tennis legend Serena Williams, said Djokovic wants to win more trophies than Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal because he knows he cannot match the popularity of the Swiss and the Spaniard.”
Fans raged as the post went viral amongst the community, with disdain all over for Rennae Stubbs. Although the recent Wimbledon comment had nothing against the Serb, it all rooted out of the feuds in history.
