Serena Williams’ Ex-coach Patrick Mouratoglou Launches Fresh Controversy as He Irks Rafael Nadal Fans With a Biased Novak Djokovic Statement

Patrick Mouratoglou, Serena Williams‘ ex-coach, is one person in tennis that just becomes the center of all attention, good and bad. He recently gave an opinion that put him on trial with fans of the legendary Spaniard, Rafael Nadal.

Mouratoglou was the coach of Serena Williams for a decade and in that time, he helped Williams win 10 Grand Slams and one Olympic gold medal. Mouratoglou has etched his name as one of the best coaches in history. However, his status has not helped him stow away criticism from many. Some time ago, he caught flak from Sascha Bajin, Naomi Osaka’s ex-coach, for his comments on a champion’s mentality.

Patrick Mouratoglou angers fans of Rafael Nadal

Mouratoglou recently uploaded a video on Instagram in which he talks about his favorite shots of the 2022-2023 season. As per him, Nick Kyrgios has the best trick shots and serves, Carlos Alcaraz has the best drop shots, Rafael Nadal has the best forehand, and finally Novak Djokovic has the best return, movement, backhand and mentality.

The last opinion is what annoyed Rafa fans. Many users left comments stating that his opinion of Djokovic having the best mental ability was outrageous.

One fan said that all but the Djokovic one was wrong. @rossmgorham commented: “All but the last one wrong. You think Rafa is the second best mentally?“.

Another outraged fan said that his comment was a disrespect to Nadal. @lopezbartelsalex commented: “Best mental Novak Djokovic? Seriously!!?? What a disrespect for Nadal..“.

The classification being a joke was the opinion of a Rafa fan. @madre_sabubu_ commented: “Best mental Djoko over Nadal? This should ve a joke“.

Nadal having the best mental ability without a doubt was another comment. @connorwerstler commented: “All agreed until best mindset is fosho nadal“.

One user had a rather tame opinion than other commenters. @mr_fly_meerak commented: “Djoko has a better mental than Nadal? I think I can accept that answer, but I expected you to say both of those players.”
