Their journey together has been nothing short of extraordinary, from iconic battles on the court to a heartwarming camaraderie off of it. They’ve shown the world that even the fiercest of rivals can share an unbreakable bond, proving that sportsmanship transcends competition. As Nadal prepares to bid farewell to the sport, Federer’s emotional message to his longtime rival and close friend has struck a chord with fans and players alike. Among those moved by Federer’s words is another legend, Serena Williams, who couldn’t resist sharing her appreciation.

The Swiss Maestro took to his X account ahead of Nadal’s clash with Netherland’s Botic van de Zandschulp which the Spaniard eventually lost in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, which also marked an end to his glorious career. His appreciation quickly drew the attention of many fans and players alike and the one who responded in affirmation was the former American sensation, Williams.

The 43-year-old shared a two-word response to Federer’s post as she lauded the Swiss legend. “Well said 🥹🥹,” she wrote, signifying her support for the emotions for Nadal expressed by Federer. For the unversed, Federer highlighted that Nadal “made the whole tennis world proud.” He also shared some lighter moments and mentioned the time when he sent his children to Nadal’s own academy.
