Well, unfortunately, this rarest record was finally broken when Rafael Nadal went down to Frances Tiafoe on Monday with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.

An achievement that will go down in history

Every player dreams of making it big and winning the major grand slams and only the destined ones reach there. On this Tuesday, the official account of US Open Tennis went on Twitter and tweeted quite an emotional post that read something like this.

Earlier on the 3rd of September, Serena Williams bowed down to Ajla Tomljanovic with a score of 5-7, 7-6, 1-6. This was eventually her last ever US Open and might well be her last ever grand slam.

When we talk about Rafael Nadal, his records are second to none, especially on the clay courts. Back in June 2022, Rafa defeated Casper Ruud in the French Open final by a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-0, extending his record for most Grand Slam victories to 22.

Eventually, he became the oldest champion in the clay-court tournament’s history with his victory, which happened two days after his 36th birthday. To go with all this, he has also won Wimbledon twice, the Australian Open once, and the U.S. Open four times each.

The best one has to be the one where she is the only woman in the history of tennis to win 10 Grand Slam Titles after turning 30.
