Earlier this month, Serena Williams had some wonderful news for her fans. The 23-time Grand Slam champion announced her comeback to tennis after a lengthy injury layoff. The younger Williams sister received a wildcard entry to participate at the Wimbledon Championships 2022. However, before the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, she decided to play doubles with Ons Jabeur at Eastbourne International. Serena is looking for her 24th Grand Slam title, which has eluded her for over five years now. If she manages to add another major title to her kitty, she’ll equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles. Serena’s last major title came at the Australian Open in 2017.
The two legends of the game will play their first-round matches today on Centre Court at Wimbledon. While Nadal will face Francisco Cerundolo, Serena will take on France’s Harmony Tan.
