Ever since Stefanos Tsitsipas’ win in Monte Carlo, there have been renewed hopes that the French Open could be his first major title win. However, the Greek star failed to live up to expectations and made an early exit from the tournament. Tsitsipas went down fighting against Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal. Additionally, he suffered a similar fate in doubles, bowing out in the last eight. With his form going downhill, a section of the media blamed his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, for it.

The Spanish beauty has often borne the brunt of her boyfriend’s poor performances. People have questioned Tsitsipas’ commitment to tennis after being in a relationship with Badosa. However, on this occasion, the Greek star’s fans came to the defense of the power couple and blamed Badosa.

Such incidents also seem to have taken a toll on the relationship between the two. Earlier this year, Tsitsipas and Badosa also called off their relationship, only to make a U-turn a few days later. The duo’s fans don’t want to see the two separate again and come to Badosa’s rescue over inappropriate comments.

Fans condemn blame on Badosa over Stefanos Tsitsipas’ poor performance

After Tsitsipas bowed out of the French Open, there were widespread reports on social media that slammed Badosa for her boyfriend’s early exit. However, this time around, Tsitsipas’ fans gave a fitting reply to these reports. One fan commented, “It’s always sad to see a woman is being misogynistic. But nothing new unfortunately. Paula has nothing to do with his results. He was gonna win MC and he was gonna be in the final of Barcelona anyway.”

Further, another report questioned Tsitsipas’ work ethic and dedication to tennis while in a relationship with Badosa. However, some fans called out the ‘unprofessional’ criticism by Tsitsipas’ long-time friend and slammed him for blaming Badosa over Tsitsipas’ defeats in Paris. Another fan wrote, “This is so unprofessional of him… he is trying to diminish Stef’s efforts and embarrass his work ethics. Professionals do not act like this.”

Subsequently, some fans of the Greek star lashed out at his friend, who had questioned his work ethic. Despite Tsitsipas giving his all during the tournament, his friend felt otherwise and faced flak from fans. While one fan was unsure about the conversation between Tsitsipas and his friend, another Twitter user questioned the criticism of his work ethic.
