The official X (formerly Twitter) profile of the Tennis Channel recently shared a clip, where the host asked former tennis legends, Monica Puig and Andy Roddick about their excitement for the upcoming Roger Federer documentary. While Roddick expressed a thorough enthusiasm for watching it when it would be released on Netflix in July, Puig surprised the fraternity with her amusing reaction.
“To watch it all I know is that I’m going to see this by myself because I will probably ugly cry a lot. Federer, I always admired him a lot, looked up to him. Great role model. And to see his life both as an athlete and all those private moments outside the court, you know, it’s going to be super, super special. And thanks to him for letting us in and seeing a Roger Federer that most of us probably have never seen before, other than just him being the greatest of all time on court” said emotional Puig.

This Swiss former tennis legend’s retirement at the Laver Cup tour 2022 was truly emotional for his fans and the fraternity. Fans could remember the iconic “Fedal” moment when his opponent Nadal was spotted sharing his tears with Federer on the latter’s last day on the professional court in the Laver Cup tour. “Too many years, both of us sharing important things for our lives. When Roger leaves, I’m losing an important part of my life, it’s leaving with him. Difficult to hold emotions in that moment. As Roger said, at the end, that’s life…For him, it was a fantastic end on the court and that’s what I like to see,” said the Spaniard.
The day was also emotional for the Serbian tennis maestro Djokovic. His signal to the Team World at the Laver Cup 2022 for circling Federer and hosting him in the air as a final tribute became one of the iconic photos from Federer’s retirement showing the Serbs’ admiration for him.

Djokovic was crying yesterday too, I feel very happy to be here. I couldn’t sleep, I was really emotional, I told him why we were crying. The reason why I chose to become a tennis player was because of him.” said Berrettini, expressing his feelings about his idol Federer’s retirement to Eurosport.

“I really hope one day I can send my kids there, and then pick them up a week later and ask them, ‘So, how was it? We don’t want to go back. It was too hard for us!” said Federer while mentioning his interest in sending his kids to the academy.
