Former Serbian tennis player, Ana Ivanovic, shared in an interview that Novak Djokovic is significantly superior to his rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. Ivanovic thinks Djokovic has the potential to surpass Federer’s all-time Grand Slam record.
The former Serbian player has a long history of friendship with Novak Djokovic. They both entered the court in the same year, and are the same age. Ivanovic enjoyed a 15-year career that was jam-packed with achievements. The Serbian won 15 titles in all and earned more than $15 million in prize money. She also managed to reach three Grand Slam finals.

Ivanovic shares her views about the vibrant tennis player, Novak Djokovic
At the Australian Open 2020, Djokovic won his 17th Grand Slam trophy. This leaves him three behind Federer’s record and just two short of Nadal’s total of 19 Grand Slam titles. Federer has a record 20 Grand Slam victories, but he hasn’t claimed a Major crown since defeating Croatian Marin Cilic in the Australian Open final in 2018.
Novak Djokovic had once stated his priorities out. The Serb desires to win the most Major championships. Ivanovic believes that the Nole has more time to surpass Federer’s Grand Slam titles. Djokovic has been one of the best players to beat on the biggest tennis stage, with 21 Major victories, one fewer than Rafael Nadal.
In an interview, Ivanovic was quoted as,” Novak is the best player in tennis history. The most fascinating thing about him is how long he is at top of the game.”

At the beginning of 2011, Roger Federer had 15 more Major titles than Novak. He had to wait 11 years to catch up to and surpass the Swiss. It put him in third place and forced him to continue his GOAT competition with Nadal. Ivanovic further added, “Both Roger and Rafa had ups and downs but the Nole always stayed at the top. ”
Rune defeats Djokovic in Paris to win his first Masters title
With the score 3-6 6-3 7-5, Holger Rune defeated Novak Djokovic after falling behind a set. Rune won his first Masters championship elegantly. Djokovic jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead but Rune quickly broke back.
