In a recent revelation, The Spanish legend reflected on the different paths that he and Naomi Osaka took to tennis. While Osaka lost her love for the game for a bit, Nadal always stayed passionate. Despite facing injury problems, he never thought about quitting. He rather chose to keep going despite doubts.
He worked hard every day without knowing how things would turn out. On the other hand, Osaka had to find her love for tennis again after taking a break.
“I think Naomi, if I’m not wrong, she said that she lost a little bit the love for the game for a while and the passion for the game. Something that never happened to me. So the biggest difference. She gets tired or lost little bit the motivation for this game or for this thing. That never happened to me. I had to be away because my body was not able to keep going. If I thought about retirement during that period of time? Of course, yes. I had the determination to keep going,” said Rafael Nadal in the interview.
