Years have passed by but there still remains an unanswered question in the tennis world – Who is the greatest player of all time? This debate has taken center stage on many occasions, with different people having different views. Although the likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal have been at the center of these talks, there hasn’t emerged a clear winner yet. Earlier today, the Russian star Daria Kasatkina put forward her opinion on the matter.
Kasatkina, who is among the top players in the WTA circuit and is World No. 12 currently, was interviewed by TNNS where she was asked to pick a GOAT among the Big 3 in tennis. She replied by saying, “All three of them are unreachable. You know, if someone has an idol, they’ll love him even if the results are not up to par. And it’s obvious in my case, because it started in my childhood. But objectively, looking at the results, Novak is the greatest. It’d be silly to argue about that. And the rest is just a matter of taste.”
While Federer has retired and Nadal is nearing his retirement, Djokovic is still ruling the ATP circuit. He has already won an astonishing 24 Grand Slam titles and is looking hungry for more. On the other hand, Nadal has won 22 major titles while Federer has 20 Grand Slam trophies to his credit.

As if this wasn’t enough, Djokovic has left Nadal and Federer behind in terms of other achievements as well, like the most ATP Masters titles and most weeks as World Number 1. However, Kasatkina is a die-hard Rafael Nadal fan, and while she has accepted Djokovic’s tremendous statistical dominance, she never fails to show admiration for the Spanish maestro. The Russian star has previously shown how big a fan she is of Rafael Nadal with an emotional reaction to the announcement of Nadal’s comeback.
Daria Kasatkina on Rafael Nadal: ‘He comes back like a phoenix and wins something’
Nadal missed a majority of the last season owing to injuries. But toward the end of the last year, he revealed his comeback plans which left Kasatkina excited, as she couldn’t wait to see him on the court again.
Expressing her emotions on Nadal’s comeback, the Russian said, “I’m already happy that he’ll come back. It’s amazing how he proves it every time. Everyone writes him off, but every time he comes back like a phoenix and wins something. It’s totally unbelievable… If he can show some kind of result already in Australia, it will be very cool. As a fan from the cradle, I want to postpone the cry when your idol ends his career. I’m not in a hurry, I’d like to see more of his matches.”
