Rafael Nadal hopes to see Chris Evert healthy soon

18-time Grand Slam champion Chris Evert shared her stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis on Twitter yesterday. She expressed her gratitude that the doctors “caught it early”.

Thus, she expects “positive results from (her) chemo plan”. She further thanked fellow ESPN journalist Chris McKendry for co-writing her personal story behind her diagnosis.

Evert hopes to help others by getting her story out there to the world. Furthermore, she also thanked everyone “for respecting (her) need to focus on (her) health and treatment plan.”

Rafael Nadal commented on Evert’s announcement the subsequent day. “Chris, all the best to you,” Rafa wrote. “Get well!” he wished Evert. Moreover, he also expressed how he was certain that she would be healthy soon, and back on the press tour for ESPN.

“I am sure I’ll see you very soon!” Rafael Nadal wrote on Twitter, attaching a small strength emoji to his tweet to wish Evert strength and health.

Even the most sought-after coach in tennis, Patrick Mouratoglou reacted to Evert’s announcement. In fact, he wished her using her nickname, and wrote “Much love and strength to you Chrissie,” in his tweet to Evert.

In a lead-up video to the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal opened up about how he still doubts himself often. He acknowledged how the odds are against him at 35 years old. However, he does not doubt his passion, nor his goal of winning.

Nevertheless, even though he sometimes has doubts, Nadal said that “doubts are good”, because they “make you think,” and “make you feel alive.”
