‘Proud’ Husband Gael Monfils Goes Head Over Heels for Elina Svitolina’s ‘Crazy’ Dual Role Act

But Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina has been happily doing so for almost two years. She gave birth to her daughter, Skai, on October 15, 2022, and then made a comeback to tennis after 5 months. Her journey so far has been truly remarkable.

Recently her partner, Gael Monfils revealed how incredible it is for Elina Svitolina to manage both tennis as well as motherhood so efficiently. Let’s have a look at what the French tennis star said about her partner’s incredible ability during a cinema session with the Australian Open.

Gael Monfils thinks what Elina Svitolina does is ‘quite incredible’

Both Monfils and Svitolina have missed quite a significant part of the 2022 season. The Frenchman was out due to a foot injury while the Ukranian was pregnant during that time. However, in 2023 they made a stellar comeback and produced some noteworthy results throughout the year. But the 2024 season didn’t start off too well for Svitolina, as she had to step away midway through her fourth-round match of the AO due to a back injury. 

However, Gael Monfils believes what Svitlona is doing is absolutely incredible. He recently picked the most impressive thing about watching her partner make a comeback after giving birth to their daughter. “Her determination you know to go back to do sacrifice again that fast. I felt was quite incredible and then also at the same time be the mom she is. I was like wow, that’s crazy and you can just be proud.“

Elina Svitolina not only has to balance her professional life with her family duties. But she also has to balance her Grand Slam goals with her ‘mission’ for her country.

‘I want to help people’- Svitolina

Elina Svitolina is one of the most popular sports stars in Ukraine. She has been actively participating in spreading awareness campaigns, raising money to help her nation since the Russian invasion in 2022. Speaking on that she said, “I take it as my mission. I have my foundation, I’m an ambassador for United24 [the official fundraising programme of Ukraine]. I want to help people. As a tennis player, I have different kinds of opportunities. With my foundation, my team that are working for United24, we’re trying to create different kinds of events so that we can raise money for Ukrainian people.“

She says she always tries to use her platform for the ‘health’ of her country. Apart from that she’s still chasing her goal to win a Grand Slam title in her career. Can Elina Svitolina win a Grand Slam title in 2024?
