Iga Swiatek talks about players removing the Ukrainian ribbon

Despite winning the Italian Open, Iga Swiatek didn’t forget to pass on the message to continue to support Ukraine during the time of crisis. According to her, the conflict didn’t end, as people are still suffering. Also, she talked about players removing the Ukrainian ribbon, which is not ideal, as per the Polish player.

“I know that many players played with ribbons at the beginning of the war where all the fuss was a little bit more loud. I realized that some of them took them off, which is for me pretty weird because there is still war, there are people still suffering,” Swiatek stated

Meanwhile, Wimbledon is in no mood to lift the ban on Russian players. On the other hand, ATP and WTA are also siding with their players, and could potentially take away all the points from Wimbledon if don’t change their decision.

Earlier, Iga Swiatek expressed her views on the ban, as she felt this situation was getting more and more chaotic. “The situation is getting like more and more chaotic, I would say. But I feel like it would be nice to have all these bodies making the proper decision so that we’re not going to have that kind of chaos,” World no.1 said earlier.

Swiatek’s record-breaking run continues

While all this chaos is happening in the world of tennis, the world no.1 is continuing her focus on tennis. As a result, she is on a 28-match winning streak and doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon. Also, she has now won 4 WTA 1000 titles, in a single season, along with her five consecutive titles.
