Paula Badosa has been on cloud 9 of late. She is in the form of her life, winning the Citi Open title earlier this month, along with consistent performances in other tournaments. Entering the US Open high on confidence, Badosa put on a brilliant display to defeat Taylor Townsend in their encounter today. Subsequently, she made a stunning revelation about her partnership with her boyfriend, Stefanos Tsitsipas.

When asked if she would play in the US Open mixed-doubles with Tsitsipas, Badosa revealed, “I confirm that. Hopefully, we play tomorrow. We’re looking forward to it. It’s really nice to share the court together. We spend time off court, but also on court.. It’s really special in a slam. It’s like a dream come true. Big shout out to him. He’s going through tough moments. But he’s a champion and he will always be a champion.”

Given their adorable relationship, the pairing of Badosa and Tsitsipas is a dream to watch for any tennis fan. Ahead of the US Open, they proved why they are a force to reckon with, as they won the inaugural Mixed Madness. They took home the title leaving behind some powerful pairings like Coco Gauff-Ben Shelton, Amanda Anisimova-Taylor Fritz, and Naomi Osaka-Nick Kyrgios.

However, this isn’t the first time that Tsitsidosa has won while playing together. Last year, they won their first match while playing together against Daniil Medvedev and Sofia Kenin.

During an interview, Badosa revealed, “I try to learn from him. In the end, he is one of the best people in the world and I admire him, he inspires me, so sharing moments with him helps me grow professionally and personally. He contributes very good things to me. I think playing alongside him is going to add a lot. I want him to win everything, to fulfill his dreams and if I can be by his side to be able to live it, then help him and be there.”

The power couple wanted to play mixed doubles together at the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships as well this year. However, they couldn’t go ahead with that plan due to Badosa’s injury. With the Spaniard fully fit and in great form now, Tsitsidosa would be the one mixed-doubles pair to look out for at the US Open.
